Ray Miller

Ray Miller is a lifelong outdoorsman, storyteller, and sporting travel host whose life has been shaped by wild places, good dogs, and the enduring traditions of hunting and fishing. From early mornings on trout rivers to late-season pheasant fields and far-flung sporting camps, Ray’s journey has always been about more than the pursuit—it’s about the people, the places, and the moments that stay with us long after the day ends.

With decades of experience across fly fishing, wingshooting, and big-game hunting, Ray has traveled extensively throughout North America and abroad, pursuing everything from sea-run browns and Atlantic salmon to upland birds and big game. Along the way, mentors, friends, and dogs have left indelible marks on his life, shaping not only how he hunts and fishes, but how he sees the world.

Ray is the founder and editor-in-chief of Fur, Fin & Fire – A Journal for the Ardent Sportsman, an independent sporting magazine dedicated to preserving outdoor heritage through thoughtful long-form storytelling, photography, and film. The magazine serves as a creative backbone for much of his work, bringing together a community of writers, photographers, and sportsmen who share a deep respect for tradition, craftsmanship, and the sporting life.

In addition to his editorial work, Ray hosts immersive sporting travel experiences in wild and storied destinations, offering anglers and hunters the opportunity to connect more deeply with place, culture, and each other. At heart, Ray is a believer in slowing down, paying attention, and honoring the stories that unfold afield—stories worth telling and worth passing on.
